Keys to a more powerful prayer life

Here are eight keys that have helped me develop a more powerful prayer life. I hope they will encourage you to make 2020 a year of prayer.

1. Know to whom you are speaking.

Prayer is a conversation with God, and every conversation begins by addressing the person to whom you are speaking by name. Jesus begins with “Our Father in heaven.” He focuses on a distinct person — the Heavenly Father with whom he has a personal relationship. We share the same right to call God “Father,” and there are times when we need to talk with our Abba Father, Daddy God. But God is three distinct persons in One: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The law of God is opposite to the law of Satan, just as Galatians 5:16-17 says, “But I say, walk by the spirit, and do not gratify the desire of the flesh. For the desire of the flesh are against the spirit, and the desire of spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would.”

We all know what is good but we do not care to practice it. The devil controls your mind by letting see sin as enjoyment.

1.       You will start to think, “oh, it’ will only be this one time. It’s not a big deal. No one’s looking. I’ll just give in, just this once.”

We are all human and we all make mistake. Letting go once in a while is sometimes even healthy.

2.       You know your goal, but then you start to think of things that you think you need in order to get there, and pretty soon you lose sight of the original goal because you have gotten distracted by less important goals.

Now we live in a new age of technology, and it is having massive, unforeseen effects.

Not all of technology, by any means, is bad. Just as pornography is widely available across the globe and into the privacy of home more than ever before through the smartphone, so also are Bibles, various translations, biblical teaching, and spiritual resources.

In the smallest village where books would take months to penetrate, there are now farmers with smartphones.

See Yourself as God Sees You

 Unless we learn to look at ourselves like God looks at us, we'll never reach the potential that He has for us. The devil bombards our mind, and he comes against us in every way and tries to condemn us and make us say bad things about ourselves. But we need to realize that we are a child of God and dearly beloved by Him.

How do you see yourself? Pause for a moment and think about it. What thoughts have you had about yourself today?
So many of us find ourselves basing our self-worth on how others see us and on our accomplishments, feeling shame from our past, defining our value based on our looks, or setting unrealistic standards for ourselves.

Answer: The Bible presents several different resources to aid us in our effort to overcome sin. In this lifetime, we will never be perfectly victorious over sin (1 John 1:8), but that should still be our goal. With God’s help, and by following the principles of His Word, we can progressively overcome sin and become more and more like Christ.

The first resource the Bible mentions in our effort to overcome sin is the Holy Spirit. God has given us the Holy Spirit so we can be victorious in Christian living. God contrasts the deeds of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:16-25. In that passage we are called upon to walk in the Spirit. All believers already possess the Holy Spirit, but this passage tells us that we need to walk in the Spirit, yielding to His control. This means choosing to consistently follow the Holy Spirit's prompting in our lives rather than following the flesh.

Talking with an angel: is it wrong to want to talk with an angel?

Don’t Fight Anyone

Then Ahab brought it into the open: will you join me in attacking Ramoth Gilead? Jehoshaphat said, you bet. I’m with you all the way; you can count on me and my troops. Then Jehoshaphat said, But before you do anything, ask GOD for guidance

(2 Chronicles 18:3-4).

The fight of faith is the only legitimate fight for the believer; and it’s not a fight with people. So, never fight or get into strife with anyone over anything. Fighting with people is a wrong fight. Sometimes, it might seem just to “fight” for something or a cause, but seek the Lord’s guidance.

For example, King Ahab was ready to fight hard to reclaim a land he believed rightfully belong to him, and requested Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, to go with him to the battle. However, Jehoshaphat responded to him wisely and said, “…before you do anything, ask GOD for guidance.”

Shun The Love Of Money

For the love of money is the root of all evil: Which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1 Timothy 6:10)

As a Christian, it’s important for you to understand who you really are. You’re many who, against their conscience, will do anything for money. This happens in different forms in many societies, and it may seem normal, but it’s wrong.

Prayer of Salvation

“O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe he’s alive today. I confess with mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my Life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, I have eternal Life; I’m born again. Thank you Lord, for saving my soul! I’m now a child of God. Hallelujah!”

Add More Value To Your Life

Many people retire from work and spend all their evening days reading newspaper and rocking on a chair. Some young people spend their time leafing through the pages of magazines and books that don’t add any value to their lives. You can become more excellent than you are right now by adding some value to your life. Start by leaning something new.

Dear Father, I thank you for the Youth of our great nation, and ask that your grace, wisdom and ability will come upon them to dream and apprehend the excellent future that you’ve destined for them. I pray that you’ll grant the older generation the motivation and fortitude to do what’s right and necessary for the younger generations to live up to their full potentials and fulfill their destinies in you, in Jesus’ Name. As a country, we’ve been very fortunate to have achieved many things on a platter of gold. A part of the Fidelity bank building, located within the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC), was razed by an early Wednesday morning fire, causing panic and apprehension among the resident of the area.

Hit-and-run driver kills masquerade in Uyo

Cultural life of the people of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State,  was temporarily halted when Ekpo, a popular but dreaded masquerade was knocked down by a hit and run driver, on Thursday.
