Keys to a more powerful prayer life

Here are eight keys that have helped me develop a more powerful prayer life. I hope they will encourage you to make 2020 a year of prayer.

1. Know to whom you are speaking.

Prayer is a conversation with God, and every conversation begins by addressing the person to whom you are speaking by name. Jesus begins with “Our Father in heaven.” He focuses on a distinct person — the Heavenly Father with whom he has a personal relationship. We share the same right to call God “Father,” and there are times when we need to talk with our Abba Father, Daddy God. But God is three distinct persons in One: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

How To Know If The Devil Is Using You

Little Children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as he is righteous.
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the work of the devil.
1 John 3:7:8

The law of God is opposite to the law of Satan, just as Galatians 5:16-17 says, “But I say, walk by the spirit, and do not gratify the desire of the flesh. For the desire of the flesh are against the spirit, and the desire of spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would.”

We all know what is good but we do not care to practice it. The devil controls your mind by letting see sin as enjoyment.
1.       You will start to think, “oh, it’ will only be this one time. It’s not a big deal. No one’s looking. I’ll just give in, just this once.”
We are all human and we all make mistake. Letting go once in a while is sometimes even healthy.
2.       You know your goal, but then you start to think of things that you think you need in order to get there, and pretty soon you lose sight of the original goal because you have gotten distracted by less important goals.

Social Media and the Church

Now we live in a new age of technology, and it is having massive, unforeseen effects.

Not all of technology, by any means, is bad. Just as pornography is widely available across the globe and into the privacy of home more than ever before through the smartphone, so also are Bibles, various translations, biblical teaching, and spiritual resources.
In the smallest village where books would take months to penetrate, there are now farmers with smartphones.

New Bible Translation Technology Is Helping to Spread the Gospel Faster Than Ever

For more than 70 years, Wycliffe Bible Translators has worked to give people the Word of God in their own language. It took 67 years to complete the first 500 Bibles, and the second 500 took only 17 years. Now, updated software for smartphones called Paratext Lite will speed up the process even more.

ParaText Lite grants access to a central database for countries to translate Scriptures and helps missionaries update their outdated software to connect with people quicker.

See Yourself as God Sees You

Unless we learn to look at ourselves like God looks at us, we'll never reach the potential that He has for us. The devil bombards our mind, and he comes against us in every way and tries to condemn us and make us say bad things about ourselves. But we need to realize that we are a child of God and dearly beloved by Him.

How do you see yourself? Pause for a moment and think about it. What thoughts have you had about yourself today?
So many of us find ourselves basing our self-worth on how others see us and on our accomplishments, feeling shame from our past, defining our value based on our looks, or setting unrealistic standards for ourselves.

How can I overcome sin in my Christian life?

Question: "How can I overcome sin in my Christian life?"

Answer:
The Bible presents several different resources to aid us in our effort to overcome sin. In this lifetime, we will never be perfectly victorious over sin (1 John 1:8), but that should still be our goal. With God’s help, and by following the principles of His Word, we can progressively overcome sin and become more and more like Christ.

The first resource the Bible mentions in our effort to overcome sin is the Holy Spirit. God has given us the Holy Spirit so we can be victorious in Christian living. God contrasts the deeds of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:16-25. In that passage we are called upon to walk in the Spirit. All believers already possess the Holy Spirit, but this passage tells us that we need to walk in the Spirit, yielding to His control. This means choosing to consistently follow the Holy Spirit's prompting in our lives rather than following the flesh.
